About the Organic Acids Test

OAT is a urine test that is a comprehensive assessment of 76 markers that provide a metabolic snapshot of your health, including an accurate evaluation of intestinal yeast and bacteria. The OAT includes markers for vitamin and mineral levels, oxidative stress, neurotransmitter levels and oxalates.

Important

Not following the instructions will result in sample rejection and your sample will need to be recollected.

  • Ensure hand writing is legible and forms are completed in full
  • Make sure patient name is written on the collection container/s
  • Names written on collection container labels must match names written on the form (e.g. abbreviations, middle names and initials) must be identical in all fields
  • Please ensure sample is tightly closed; not only is it messy for our team, but it will need to be resubmitted
  • Please ensure correct amount of sample is collected as per instructions (no more or less than as requested)

Test FAQs

No, this test can be used for infants. NOTES: Test samples take 2-3 days to get to the lab in the US. If all the tests are ordered together, each test is reported separately. Collection must be completed after a 6 hour sleep.

General FAQs

Please be aware that if you are sending your sample by post, this may take up to 1 week to arrive at FxMed. (You can contact your local post office for more specific time frames). Test results then take between 2 – 3 weeks from the date your sample is received by FxMed. FxMed then forwards the results to your practitioner. We cannot send results directly to the patient. Only your practitioner can explain your results to you.
